Description: <p></p><p><p>Hendrik von Carlowitz bewirtschaftet in Nohfelden-Walhausen einen Bioland-Betrieb mit Schwerpunkt Schafhaltung; rund 85 Mutterschafe der Rasse Coburger Fuchsschaf weiden auf den hügeligen Wiesen und Weiden um den Hof. Vermarktet werden Lammfleisch, Schaffelle und Wurstwaren sowie Schurwollartikel aus eigener Wolle. Im Juni 2024 pflanzte die Lignovis GmbH auf 0,9 ha Dauergrünland ein silvopastorales Agroforstsystem mit 2.275 Pappeln und Weiden (Gehölzfläche 0,3 ha). Ziel ist die Futterlaubproduktion für die Schafherde: Die Triebe werden direkt beweidet oder von Hand mit der Astschere geschnitten, das Laub verfüttert und die Hackschnitzel für Beete und Wege bzw. für eine Benjeshecke genutzt. Die Anlage erfolgte im Rahmen des Forschungsprojekts FuLaWi und wird durch die Projektpartner fachlich begleitet (https://futterlaub.de). The farm sells lamb, sheepskins and sausages, as well as products made from its own virgin wool. In June 2024, Lignovis GmbH planted a silvopastoral agroforestry system comprising 2,275 poplars and willows on 0.9 ha of permanent grassland (wooded area: 0.3 ha). The aim is to produce forage foliage for the flock of sheep: the shoots are either grazed directly or cut by hand using loppers; the foliage is fed to the sheep and the wood chips are used for beds and paths or for a Benjes hedge. The system was established as part of the FuLaWi research project and receives technical support from the project partners (https://futterlaub.de).
