Description: <p></p><p><p>Beim Gänsepeter in Rommerskirchen wurde im Mai 2025 auf einer rund 2 Hektar großen Fläche ein silvopastorales Agroforstsystem mit Hybrid-Pappeln und Wertholzbäumen etabliert. Ziel ist es, die Auslaufflächen für Weidegeflügel (insbesondere Gänse und Hühner) strukturell und funktional aufzuwerten. Neben der optischen Aufwertung der Fläche steht vor allem die Beschattung der Auslaufflächen im Vordergrund, um das Tierwohl bei sommerlicher Hitzebelastung zu verbessern. Gepflanzt wurden 625 Pappelruten in vier doppelreihigen Gehölzstreifen. Die Ruten (150–180 cm, geliefert von Lignovis) wurden maschinell direkt hinter einem Tiefenmeißel etwa 50-60 cm tief in den Boden gesteckt. Die Pflanzabstände variieren zwischen 1,5 und 2 Metern. Zwischen den Baumreihen befinden sich jeweils 20,5 Meter breite Ackerstreifen - normalerweise wird hier Mais für die Gänse eingesät - das wird sich künftig ändern. Die Hackschnitzel werden perspektivisch in einer geplanten hofeigenen Hackschnitzelheizung verwertet.
