Description:

As part of the "agroforst" joint research project of the University of Freiburg (Baden-Württemberg), Prof. H. Spiecker (Institute for Forest Growth) has created an example area for agroforestry. In order to be able to give an impression of the combined use in the short time of the research project, three existing plots were converted. Planting the trees: 1997, Conversion to agroforestry: 2005, New design: cherry as deciduous tree (origin Liliental) in row spacing of 15 m x 15 m with conventional agricultural use (winter wheat), Size: approx. 2,250 m², 4 rows of which are cherry trees, Background: The high-value deciduous tree demonstration area Breisach "Stockfeld" was established in 1997. The broad-leaved tree wide-distance planting should demonstrate the possibility to establish broad-leaved trees for the production of valuable wood in a comparatively extensive way with fewer plants, in comparison to classical afforestations (with up to 4,000 trees/ha). Due to the low number of stems with approx. 445 cherries/ha the effort for planting and care is reduced. So the step to the agroforestry system was not far away.

Kategorie: Silvoarables System (Gehölze und Ackerkulturen)

Größe der agroforstlich genutzten Fläche(n) (in ha): 1

Flächenanteil der Agroforstgehölze (in %): 30

Beginn der Flächenanlage (Datum): 31.12.2004

Betriebszweige:

Ackerbau

Obstbau

Baumarten:

Kirsche / Vogel-Kirsche (Prunus avium)

Hauptfruchtarten im Agroforstsystem:

Weizen

Motivation / Gründe für die Anlage des Agroforstsystems:
