Description: The data are based on a 25-m-resolution DEM of Réunion Island, Indian Ocean. Included are data on: i) basin geomorphology ii) precipitation and discharge iii) 3D reconstruction of un-eroded volcanic surfaces iv) erosion rates based on excavated lava volumes and v) correlation between all metrics. To reconstruct pre-erosion topography at the scale of a given drainage basin, we used a simplified approach that consists of interpolating elevation across basin divide. We analyze the effects of surface age, average rainfall, and rainfall variability on basin development and erosion across Reunion Island, Indian Ocean. We calculate basin-averaged values of morphometry, age, precipitation, river discharge, eroded volumes, and erosion rates, and analyze the dominant drivers of landscape evolution through a series of correlation analyses on the two volcanoes of the island (Piton des Neiges and Piton de la Fournaise).
