OLGA – Optimierung der Landnutzung an Gewässern und auf Agrarflächen zur nachhaltigen Entwicklung der Region Dresden auf Basis hydrologischer, forstwis-senschaftlicher, umweltpsychologischer und öko-nomischer Forschungs- und Umsetzungsarbeiten

Description: Für die nachhaltige Entwicklung von Regionen ist es wichtig, wachsende ökonomische und soziale Unterschiede zwischen Land und Stadt auszugleichen. OLGA initiiert Stadt-Land-Kooperationen in der Region Dresden und trägt zu einer Vernetzung regionaler Akteure, zur Aufwertung von Ökosystemleistungen, zur Stärkung von regionalen Wirtschaftskreisläufen und zu einem gegenseitigen Verständnis in der Bevölkerung bei. Die Stadt und Land verknüpfenden Fließgewässer und Auen sind wichtige Verbindungen zwischen Dresden und ihrem Umland. OLGA zielt gleichermaßen auf die Verbesserung der ökologischen Funktion dieser Grünelemente und auf die Schaffung von regionalen Wertstoffkreisläufen ab. Der Anbau von Energieholz an Fließgewässern in Verbindung mit landwirtschaftlicher Produktion und regionalem Vertrieb der Produkte stehen dabei im Mittelpunkt. Das öffentliche Bewusstsein für regionale Zusammenhänge wird gestärkt. Kommunen, Universität, Gesellschaft sowie Unternehmen der Region wirken dabei gemeinsam. OLGA wird eine übertragbare Lösung zur Umsetzung der EU-Wasserrahmenrichtlinie entwickeln und dabei regionale Wirtschaftsbeziehungen, Interessen der Flächeneigentümer, Hochwasservorsorge und Partizipation der Bevölkerung gleichermaßen berücksichtigen. Die Projektergebnisse intensivieren die wirtschaftliche Entwicklung ländlicher Räume durch Stadt-Land-Kooperation und den sozialen Zusammenhalt in der Region Dresden.   Description: For equal living conditions and the sustainable development it is important to compensate for growing economic and social differences between rural and urban areas. OLGA initiates urban-rural partnerships in the Dresden region and contributes to the networking of regional actors, to the upgrading of ecosystem services, to the strengthening of regional economic cycles and to a mutual understanding among the population. The rivers and floodplains are important links between Dresden and its surrounding area. OLGA aims both at improving the ecological function of these green elements and at creating regional material cycles. The main focus is on the cultivation of energy wood along small watercourses in connection with agricultural production and regional distribution of the products. The public awareness for regional interaction is strengthened. Municipalities, universities, society and companies in the region will work together. OLGA will develop a transferable solution for the implementation of the EU Water Framework Directive, taking regional economic relations, interests of landowners, flood prevention and participation of the population equally into account. The project results intensify the economic development of rural areas through urban-rural partnerships and social cohesion in the Dresden Region.
