Stratosphaerische Messung von Aerosolen, polarstratosphaerische Wolken und chemischer Komponenten in der westskandinavischen Leewellen-Region am Polarkreis im Rahmen des EG-SESAME-Projekts

Description: Das Hauptziel des Projektes ist es, Feldmessungen chemischer Substanzen der Stratosphaere und Aerosole durchzufuehren und anhand der Ergebnisse den Einfluss von polaren und stratosphaerischen Wolken (PSC) und (vulkanischen) Aerosolen auf die Stickstoff und Chlor-Verteilung besser zu verstehen. Partikel werden mit Lidar-Geraeten und chemische Gase mit Spektrographen nachgewiesen. Die Messorte sind Andoya (69 N, 16 E) und Kiruna (68 N, 21 E), sie liegen im Einflussgebiet der winterlichen westlichen Stroemung ueber Skandinavien. Das Vorhaben ist Teil des SESAME-Projektes (Secound European Stratospheric Arctic and Middle Latitude Experiment).

  Description: The main objective of this project is to perform field measurements of chemical species and aerosols at high latitudes yielding data which help to test the present understanding on how polar stratospheric clouds and (volcanic) aerosols affect the nitrogen and chlorine partitioning. The project employs lidars for the particulates and spectrometers for the gaseous species.
