Description: Das Projekt "Teilprojekt 3^Teilprojekt 4^Teilprojekt 8^CLIENT Vietnam - Real Time Monitoring of Urban Transport - Solutions for Transport Management and Urban Planning in Hanoi (REMON)^Teilprojekt 5^Teilprojekt 7, Teilprojekt 2" wird/wurde gefördert durch: Bundesministerium für Bildung und Forschung. Es wird/wurde ausgeführt durch: Universität Berlin, Institut für Geographische Wissenschaften, Fachrichtung Fernerkundung und Geoinformatik. The key objectives of the project are the reduction of air pollutants and emissions as well as the reduction of energy consumption within the urban transport sector in Hanoi, Vietnam. The project aims at an improvement of the urban transport systems in Hanoi. The consortium of German and Vietnamese partners will establish a real-time traffic information system in Hanoi, which helps to increase the efficiency of Hanois transport system and thus reduce environmental impacts of traffic, in particular traffic jams, traffic induced emissions and energy consumption. Furthermore, the project intends to develop means to evaluate the improvements measures, both for short term traffic optimisation and for long term transport and urban development. The REMON project corresponds with the BMBF Programme 'International Partnerships for Sustainable Technologies and Services for Climate Protection and the Environment' (CLIENT) and its goal to fund needs-driven, collaborative model projects for the development and implementation of environmentally friendly technologies that are specifically adapted to the partner countries. The project is a well-adapted, demand-oriented, collaborative research and development project between German and Vietnamese partners and institutions aiming at establishing a traffic information system and using it for achieving an integrated urban and transport development in Hanoi. Consistent with the main goals of the CLIENT funding programme, the research project REMON aims for energy reduction and emission reduction in urban transport. Thus, the REMON project will make a contribution to one of the CLIENTs priority subjects, climate protection. The REMON project also covers another priority subject of the CLIENT programme, namely land management and applied remote sensing and geo-information services for integrated urban and regional planning. FCD and FPD are both geo-information based technologies, which can not only be used for the detection of traffic flows and transport related issues like accessibility and travel patterns, but also as a supportive planning tool for integrated and sustainable transport.
