Development of Enhanced Extension Possibilities for Micro Turbine Drilling in Mauerstetten

Description: In this project the Mauerstätten well will be used as a test environment for the further development of the novel BMWi funded drilling technology 'Micro Turbine Drilling - MTD'. This method enables the cost-effective production of long, small-caliber deviated wells from an existing cased/ uncased well in formations of hard rock in order to subsequently increase permeability in case of insufficient productivity and thus minimize the discovery risk. A technology that will create completely new possibilities for geothermal energy in the development of geothermal reservoirs and has aroused a great deal of interest in the industry.
