Description: Ziel des Projekt BC-LOOKUP ist die Erstellung einer umfangreichen Datenbank zu Eigenschaften von Pflanzenkohlen aus sekundären, landwirtschaftlichen Biomassen, die auch den Einfluss unterschiedlicher Pyrolysebedingungen und -technologien abbildet. Darauf aufbauend wird ein frei zugängliches online Klimafarming-Tool entwickelt, in dem Landwirt*innen auf Basis grundlegender Daten ihres Betriebes (bewirtschaftete Fläche, Kulturen, Anzahl Tiere) das Potential für die Herstellung von Pflanzenkohle berechnen können und Vorschläge erhalten, durch welche Maßnahmen (z.B. Feldhecken) die hierfür erforderliche Menge Biomasse erzeugt werden kann. Ferner werden die Daten für die Klima- bzw. Erdsystem-Modellierung und Forschung/Politikberatung bereitgestellt, um auf Basis von Biomassepotentialstudien den möglichen Beitrag von Pyrolyse zu nachhaltigem Ressourcenmanagement der Zukunft berechnen zu können.

Description: The aim of the BC-LOOKUP project is to create a comprehensive database on properties of vegetable coals from secondary agricultural biomass, which also shows the influence of different pyrolysis conditions and technologies. Based on this, a freely accessible online climate farming tool will be developed, in which farmers can enter basic data about their farm (cultivated area, crops, number of animals) in order to calculate the potential for the production of vegetable coals and receive suggestions for measures (e.g. field hedges) that can be used to produce the required amount of biomass.
