NanoForCE - Nanotechnology for Chemical Enterprises - how to link scientific knowledge to the business in the Central Europe

Description: The project: - assess the effects on human health, exposure and environmental impacts of 3 major types of nanomaterials which are generally used in the industrial sector to demonstrate their proficiency, sustainability and market orientation; launches one innovative ICT nanotechnology platform 'Nanodeals Generator' to connect research with the chemical industry (knowledge to business); - develops Nanotechnology roadmap in CE through one Technology Rating that provides support & expertise for chemical enterprises in elaborating new initiatives & benchmarking of identified nano-proposals; - develops one joint Business Plan towards the creation of the 'Interregional Nanotech Venture Capital Fund' amounting at 30M€to ensure the project follow-up and give funding to the CE nanotech initiatives. - enhances the education & innovation level of nanotech subjects in order to prepare most promising researchers to tackle a wider range of innovation challenges in the high-technology areas together with a stronger entrepreneurial mindset; The main results of the project are (1) White Book of recommendations for the European Commission to advance potential changes of REACH regulation for some specific nanomaterials according to the risk assessment carried out on the selected nanomaterials (2) the identification of 100 potential deals between R&D Centres and large SM Enterprises of Central Europe involved regions to turn researches into industrial processes (3) the concrete development of (up to) 8 of Transnational business (e.g joint ventures) after the end of the project that go through the industrial application of innovative nanoproducts (4) 1 Nanotechnology roadmap for CE space composed by the Technological Rating and Business Plan to design the Venture Capital Fund of 30M€ by Transnational investors. The 30 months long NANOFORCE project, which is performed in 8 regions of Central Europe belonging to 7 Countries, is developed by national & regional chemistry associations and R&D Centres of the Central Europe area, the real keyplayer in boosting innovation for their associated enterprises and this representS a crucial asset in the achievement and ownership of expected project results.
