Description: Regionale Klimauntersuchung Oberrheingraben, zusammen mit Projektgruppen aus dem Elsass und Baden-Wuerttemberg. Ziel ist die umfassende Kenntnis der klimatischen Vorgaenge im mittleren und suedlichen Oberrhein- und unterem Hochrheintal. Programmpakete umfassen die Aufbereitung von Klimadaten, Klimakarten, Untersuchungen der tageszeitlichen Variationen im regionalen Skalenbereich, Interpretation von Satellitenbildern, Modellierung von Energiebilanzen der Bodengrenzschicht und von Windstroemungsverhaeltnissen.

  Title: Cloudiness maps, land utilization classification maps and radiation balance maps of the rift valley along the southern upper course of the Rhine river
  Description: REKLIP (Regio-Klima-Projekt) is a trinational regional climatological project in the Upper Rhine Valley with participants from France (Strasbourg), Germany (Karlsruhe, Freiburg) and Switzerland (Basle). The duration of REKLIP is 8 years (1989-1997) and the scientific aims are to investigate the climatic conditions of the area to improve mesoscale climate models and answer the questions which are addressed by the official authorities and planners. The area will then be one of the climatologically best studied areas in Europe, an advantage for local decision makers which has consequences beyond the turn of the present century. REKLIP incorporates various subprojects like: - a trinational climate atlas (printed and digital), - operating an energy balance network (35 stations) - mesoscale climate modelling, - satellite data analysis, - atmospheric chemistry in the Upper Rhine Valley, - special intensive operation (field) phases (like HartX, TRACT).
