Conference on Wind energy and Wildlife impacts (CWW 2015) - Organisation und Durchführung

Description: Das Projekt "Conference on Wind energy and Wildlife impacts (CWW 2015) - Organisation und Durchführung" wird/wurde gefördert durch: Bundesministerium für Umwelt, Naturschutz, Bau und Reaktorsicherheit. Es wird/wurde ausgeführt durch: Technische Universität Berlin, Institut für Landschaftsarchitektur und Umweltplanung, Fachgebiet Umweltprüfung und Umweltplanung. The international Conference on Wind energy and Wildlife impacts (CWW 2015) will be held at the Berlin Institute of Technology (TU Berlin) over March 10 - 12, 2015. The conference addresses (potential) effects of wind energy on species and their habitat, following the CWW2011 conference in Trondheim (www.cww2011.nina.no) and the CWE2013 in Stockholm (http://www.naturvardsverket.se/CWE2013). The main objective of this event is the consolidation of the state of research in the field of wind and wildlife interactions on- and offshore. Hot topics include cumulative effects, wind energy in forested areas, the efficiency of avoidance and mitigation measures. Transmission grid expansion and repowering will also be addressed as additional themes. Not only investigating the impact of wind energy on wildlife, the sessions will also cover the methods used to assess and mitigate those impacts, as well as adequate planning and permission processes and policy-making. Results will be published as Book of Abstracts and Conference Proceedings. As with the previous conferences in Norway and Sweden, the event will serve as a forum for sharing knowledge on an international and interdisciplinary level. We would like to address researchers, agency officials, conservationists, planners, project managers, developers and representatives of the energy industry. The CWW2015 in Berlin is funded by the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy on the basis of a decision by the German Bundestag.
