Dynamismen der Degradation in der Region des Binnendeltas des Niger, Mali (Afrika)

Description: Das Binnendelta des Niger ist eine der wichtigsten Regionen der ökoklimatischen Zone der Sahel in sowohl sozio-ökologischer als auch sozio-ökonomischer Sicht. Interaktionen von unterschiedlichen Mustern der Landnutzung, Migration unterschiedliche Volksgruppen mit unterschiedlicher Tradition und regionalklimatische Variationen des semi-ariden Umfeld überlagern sich mit der jährlichen Flut des Niger, die weite Bereiche des Deltas zumindest für einige Wochen bis Monate betrifft. Fernerkundung und GIS dienen dem Monitoring und der Analyse der Auswirkungen der vielfältigen Nutzungsansprüche auf die Landschaft sowie der Entwicklung von Szenarien nachhaltiger Strategien des regionalen Managements der Ressourcen.

  Description: The Niger Inland Delta is one of the most important regions of the Sahelian eco-climatic zone concering socio-ecological as well as socio-economical aspects of regional development. Interactions of a variety of impacts driven by a clash of different land use practices due to migration of various ethnic groups to the fringes of the delta together with regional climatic undulations of annual rainfalls and thus of semi-arid conditions are overlaid by the annual flooding of vast areas of the delta for a period of at least weeks to months.
