Institutionelle Ausgestaltung der internationalen Klimapolitik

Description: Das Projekt dient der wissenschaftlichen Politikberatung des Bundesministeriums für Umwelt, Naturschutz und Reaktorsicherheit im Bereich der internationalen Klimapolitik. Mit besonderem Augenmerk auf die institutionelle und völkerrechtliche Ausgestaltung der internationalen Klimapolitik erarbeitet Ecologic relevante Handlungsoptionen und bewertet diese fachlich. Prioritär zu bearbeitende Themengebiete umfassen die institutionelle Ausgestaltung des internationalen Beratungsprozesses im Kontext der Klimarahmenkonvention der Vereinten Nationen sowie ihres Kyoto-Protokolls, die weitere Ausgestaltung des Erfüllungskontrollsystems des Kyoto-Protokolls sowie verschiedene Fragen im Zusammenhang mit der Fortentwicklung der internationalen Klimapolitik über das Jahr 2012 hinaus, in dem die Verpflichtungsperiode des Kyoto-Protokolls endet. Ecologics Projektleistungen (u.a. Erstellung von Hintergrundanalysen) werden in engem Bezug zum internationalen Verhandlungsprozess (Klimarahmenkonvention und Kyoto-Protokoll) erbracht.

  Description: The project aims at providing expert policy advice to the German Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation and Nuclear Safety in the field of international climate policy. With a particular focus on issues of institutional design and international law, Ecologic elaborates and evaluates relevant policy options.
