Description: Use of a Regional Climate Model to investigate the manner in which a warming global climate may lead to shifts in extreme events in a regional context (the European Alps). The focus is on wind storms, extreme precipitation, and temperatures (particularly periods of anomalously warm conditions). The impacts of such changes in extremes on physical and socio-economic systems, and possible adaptation-strategies, are also addressed in their project.
