Reducing, fuel consumption and air pollution of industrial furnaces by high efficiency pebble heaters and fluid-dynamical valve

Description: Das Projekt "Reducing, fuel consumption and air pollution of industrial furnaces by high efficiency pebble heaters and fluid-dynamical valve" wird/wurde gefördert durch: Kommission der Europäischen Gemeinschaften Brüssel. Es wird/wurde ausgeführt durch: uATZ-EVUS Applikations- und Technikzentrum für Energieverfahrens-, Umwelt- und Strömungstechnik. We propose the development of a regenerative burner system for the reduction of fuel consumption and air pollution of industrial furnaces. The system will be tested at a demonstration facility on a furnace in Yugoslavia. The intention is to show that the problems of inefficient use of energy and excessive air pollution from industries in the Balkans may be efficiently solved by using their own scientific and technical excellence linked to the state-of-the-art tools for the technology development, available in the EU. The system consists of energetically optimised regenerators, connected by a Fluid-Dynamical Valve and high velocity burner heads. It allows to decrease the energy consumption by 50 Prozent , to reduce the NOx emissions to less than 500mg/m3STP and to reach EU standards for allowable emissions of CO and hydrocarbons. It will be reliable in operation and the pay-back period will be short.
