Description: Das Projekt "Studies on Chemical Ecology, Sensory Physiology and Behaviour of Ticks" wird/wurde gefördert durch: Schweizerischer Nationalfonds zur Förderung der Wissenschaftlichen Forschung. Es wird/wurde ausgeführt durch: Universite de Neuchatel, Faculte des Sciences, Institut de Zoologie.'- Ticks are an important group of ectoparasites. - Unline insect parasites, little is known concerning natural products which govern behaviours such as host-finding, attachment, feeding and mating in ticks. - This is a multidisciplinary projects covering the ultrastructure of exocrine glands and sensory organs, electrophysiological characterization of olfactary and gustatory sensilla, chemical characterization of naturally occupping chemostimulants, and analysis of the behaviour responses of ticks to such stimulants.
