Description: Das Projekt "ULEV-Pkw mit geringem CO2-Ausstoss" wird vom Umweltbundesamt gefördert und von Mercedes-Benz Group AG durchgeführt. The platform technology focuses on development of DI Diesel passenger cars as clean as gasoline cars of the year 2005 with lower CO2 emissions than today's DI gasoline cars, considering advanced technologies: fuel injection+combustion process, air motion exhaust gas recirculation management to the necessary extend, exhaust gas after treatment with NOx reduction catalysis particulate trap. The use of 2 in technologies different engines is an attempt to reach the target with 2 methods of resolution by integrating the critical technologies of the included projects conc. The advanced injection charge motion systems, thermal management etc. Target will be reached with emission reduction via the optimal control of the applied technologies by a sophisticated power train management system is validated in one vehicle for each attempt.
