Interreg III B, Richtlinien und Anpassungsstrategien an den Klimawandel in der Ostsee-Region (ASTRA)

Description: Das Hauptziel des ASTRA - Projekts besteht darin, die regionalen Auswirkungen des anhaltenden globalen Klimawandels festzustellen sowie Strategien und Richtlinien zur Anpassung zu entwickeln. In der ersten Phase wird das Projekt im Rahmen einer Studie wissenschaftliche Erkenntnisse aus Klimamodellen und der Forschung bezüglich Klimaauswirkungen sowie geomorphologische und geologische Untersuchungen verwenden, um die Folgen der Klimaveränderung für sowohl natürliche als auch sozioökonomische Systeme zu ermitteln. Zweitens werden in Hinblick auf die regionale Planung Anpassungsstrategien entwickelt. Drittens wird besonderer Wert auf das Risikobewusstsein der Öffentlichkeit gelegt, indem in den an die Ostsee angrenzenden Ländern zum Zwecke der Informationsverbreitung regionale Konferenzen und Workshops veranstaltet werden.   Title: Developing Policies and Adaption Strategies to Climate Change in the Baltic Sea Region (ASTRA)
  Description: The main objective is to assess regional impacts of the ongoing global change in climate and to develop strategies and policies for climate change adaptation. The project will address threats arising from climate change in the BSR, such as extreme temperatures, droughts, forest fires, storm surges, winter storms and floods. In order to elaborate adaptation and mitigation strategies it is inevitable to involve regional and local spatial planners and stakeholders. Entry points and integration to existing planning processes and methods will be identified. Climate change impacts and vulnerability of regions are studied in several regional and local case studies. Second, adaptation strategies for regional planning purposes will be developed. In work package 1 climate change impacts and vulnerability of regions are studied in several regional and local case studies focusing on single effects as well as on socio-economic sectors. Entry points and integration to existing planning processes and methods will be identified. Third, a special attention to risk awareness will be addressed through intensive dissemination exercises, such as regional conferences and workshops in the countries around the BSR (work package 2 Dissemination). Transferring the impact results from work package 1 into adaptation strategies and policies is the main objective of work package 3.
