Description: BIOFOAMBARK aims at developping the chemistry and technology for preparing fully bio-based tannin foams from wood bark of prevelant European softwoods and from the co-products of biofuels and biorefineries. Nanotechnology approaches using nanocellulose will be used to tailor the structure and properties of the bio-based foams. These foams will be evaluated for use as insulating materials and end of life reconversion into syngas.
