Gutachten der Fischfauna des Mesangat Feuchtgebietes, Kalimatan Timur, Indonesien

Description: Das Mesangat Feuchtgebiet im Osten Borneos ist das erste Areal, welches von einem international agierendem Ölpalmenunternehmen zum nachhaltigen Schutz freigegeben wurde. Die 8000 ha große Fläche beheimatet stark bedrohte Arten wie u.a. Borneo Orang-Utans, Nasenaffen, Sunda-Gaviale, Siam-Krokodile und die Borneo-Flussschildkröte. Darüber hinaus ist dies das einzige Gebiet weltweit in dem die beiden zuvor genannten, fischfressenden Krokodilarten gemeinsam vorkommen und sich fortpflanzen. Um einen besseren Schutz dieser Arten und des gesamten Gebietes zu gewährleisten, gilt es herauszufinden, welche Fischarten dort vorkommen und welche Arten, vor allem von den adulten Krokodilen, als Nahrungsquelle genutzt werden. Neben dem Forschungsmuseum Alexander Koenig ist der Kölner Zoo, die ZGAP sowie YASIWA, eine lokale NGO, involviert.
