Environmental Compatibility and the State of the Art in Biomass Heating Stations for Straw and Whole-Plant Firing

Description: Das Projekt "Environmental Compatibility and the State of the Art in Biomass Heating Stations for Straw and Whole-Plant Firing" wird/wurde gefördert durch: Bundesministerium für Land- und Forstwirtschaft, Umwelt und Wasserwirtschaft Österreich / Bundesministerium für Wissenschaft und Forschung Österreich. Es wird/wurde ausgeführt durch: Technische Universität Graz, Institut für Grundlagen der Verfahrenstechnik und Anlagentechnik.The goal of this work is to check the environmental compatibility of these plants. Test runs take place in two different biomass combustion plants using straw and cereals as fuel and equipped with different combustion technologies meeting the present state-of-the-art. The flue gas emissions and the composition of the different ash fractions are measured. Furthermore, a weak point analysis of the combustion techniques used in Austria as well as comprehensive material balances for the inorganic elements and the organic contaminants from the biomass to the different ash fractions and the flue gas are carried out.
