Present state of knowledge in the proposed research field. 2. Obejtives of the proposed research - To assess the variation in radiocaesium in surface and groundwaters in Chernobyl - to explain the variation in surface and groundwater - to review existing information - to develop a rialiable method for predicting CS137 activity concentrations in aquatic systems to develop vulnerability criteria for long-term contamination in aquartic systems. 3. Significance of the proposed research cooperation. 4. Scientific and technical description.
