Title: Special research area Transregio 181 (SFB TRR): Energy transfers in Atmosphere and Ocean; Sub project (06) M06: Techniques for atmosphere-ocean wave coupling
Description: Techniques will be developed to quantify the coupling between the atmosphere and the ocean through the formation and breaking of ocean surface waves. These techniques consist of a numerical implementation of diffuse interface methods to the thermodynamically-consistent, and fully coupled simulation of the air-water interface, as well as a field experiment designed to measure simultaneous airflow and ocean wave coupling together with upper ocean turbulent energy dissipation.
