Soziale Lage, Umwelt und Gesundheit

Description: Gegenstand der Dissertation ist eine soziologische Untersuchung der Beziehung von Umwelt und Gesundheit. Die Grundlage bildet der deutliche Anstieg der Allergiehäufigkeit im Zeitraum der letzten 20-30 Jahre, denn Allergien gelten als Krankheiten, die maßgeblich durch natürliche und anthropogene Umwelteinflüsse verursacht werden. Die auf diesem Gebiet konstatierten 'zahlreichen Wissens- und Forschungsdefizite' (so das Rahmenprogramm 'Umwelt und Gesundheit' der Bundesministerien für Umwelt und Gesundheit 1999) führen auf die zentrale Fragestellung hin, welchen Einfluss die soziale Umwelt auf wesentliche Randbedingungen für Gesundheit hat. Dafür ist eine über die bisherige epidemiologische Forschung zu sozialen Einflussfaktoren hinausgehende soziologische Herangehensweise in (a) theoretischer Hinsicht (Hypothesen zum Zusammenhang Sozialstruktur - Gesundheit), (b) methodischer Hinsicht (qualitative und quantitative Untersuchungsdesigns die an diese Hypothesen angepasst sind) und (c) praktischer Hinsicht (der Anwendung der Ergebnisse im Rahmen von Sozialberichterstattung) notwendig.
