Weitere rechtlich-institutionelle Aspekte der Klimaverhandlungen post 2012 - Wissenschaftliche Unterstützung des BMU zu rechtlich-institutionellen Aspekten der UN-Verhandlungen für ein zukünftiges UN-Klimaregime

Description: Zielsetzung des Projekts ist es, die Bundesregierung im Rahmen der internationalen Klimaverhandlungen bei der Analyse von Vorschlägen und Positionen anderer Verhandlungsteilnehmer und bei der Ausarbeitung deutscher und EU-Positionen aus fachlich-völkerrechtlicher Sicht zu unterstützen. Der Fokus liegt dabei auf der institutionellen Ausgestaltung eines post-2012 Klimaabkommens. Die Juristinnen und Juristen des Ecologic Instituts unterstützen den Auftraggeber wissenschaftlich durch die Erarbeitung von völkerrechtlichen Analysen, Themen- und Hintergrundpapieren, und - darauf aufbauend - von Positionspapieren und Verhandlungsangeboten. Zu den Aufgaben des Ecologic Instituts gehört daneben auch die Unterstützung bei der Vorbereitung von und Teilnahme an EU-Positionsabstimmungen und EU-Expertengruppen (insbesondere der Rechtsarbeitsgruppe LEX) sowie Verhandlungen und Sitzungen unter der Klimarahmenkonvention und dem Kyoto Protokoll.

  Description: This projects objective is to provide expert policy advice to the German government on institutional and legal aspects of the international climate negotiations with the analysis of submissions and positions of other negotiating parties and the clarification of German and EU positions. Special attention will be given to the various questions relating to the future development of the international climate change regime beyond the year 2012. Ecologic Legal helps the Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation and Nuclear Safety with the preparation of legal analyses, background papers as well as position papers and negotiations.
