Das Digitale Basis-Landschaftsmodell (Basis-DLM) beschreibt die Landschaft in Form von topographischen Objekten und stellt einen präsentationsneutralen, objektbasierten Vektordatenbestand dar. Aus dem Basis-DLM wird durch Modellgeneralisierung das DLM50.1 erzeugt, welches die Objekte in einer Inhaltsdichte enthält die vergleichbar einer Topographischen Karte im Maßstab 1:50 000 ist.
