<p>The B-BLOOMS2 dataset resulted from the monitoring of 4 Belgian reference lakes during the bloom seasons in 2007 and 2008. It is composed of 278 sample events for which 17 environmental parameters are available, as well as HPLC based pigment analysis, zooplankton counting, proportion of cyanobacterial populations (from genus to species), and MC-LR concentrations determined by ELISA. Molecular data acquired during this project are also available (http://hdl.handle.net/2268/213145). </p><p>These data were acquired with the financial support of BELSPO in the frame of the Science for a Sustainable Development programme funding the project B-BLOOMS2 (SD/TE/01). The final report is available at: http://www.bblooms.be/BBLOOMS2_FinalReport.pdf</p>
The database of the MANSCAPE project(Integrated management tools for water bodies in agricultural landscapes) comprises species occurrence data of eight different organism groups (phytoplankton, diatoms, zooplankton, benthic chironomids, aquatic macro-invertebrates, macrophytes, amphibians and fish) and data on physical, chemical and morphometric variables of 126 small farmland ponds distributed over almost the entire Belgian territory.
The dataset includes data on fish species distribution along the shoreline of 25 Italian lakes and reservoirs achieved by point abundance standardised electrofishing. Data were obtained between 2007 and 2014. The database offers a detailed description of the biodiversity of fish communities in the Italian regions of Piedmont, Lombardy, Trentino-Alto Adige and Sardinia including both natural lakes and reservoirs. Detailed metadata can be found in the Freshwater Metadatabase (http://data.freshwaterbiodiversity.eu/metadb/bf_mdb_view.php?entryID=FWM_20) and in the Freshwater Metadata Journal (http://freshwaterjournal.eu).
This dataset contains information on species presence in and at lakes in Northern Germany. Most of the lakes are gravel pit lakes. All lakes that contain "fish data" only are natural lakes (N=6). Depending on lake and biological taxa, lakes were sampled several times. This datasheet contains information on species presence from the first sampling event to represent roughly equal sampling efforts between the lakes. The complete database with all sampling events is available via www.fred.igb-berlin.de (DOI: 10.18728/igb-fred-807.0) Detailed metadata can be found in the Freshwater Metadatabase (http://data.freshwaterbiodiversity.eu/metadb/bf_mdb_view.php?entryID=FWM_38) and in the Freshwater Metadata Journal (https://doi.org/10.15504/fmj.2023.53).
<p>This dataset represents data from the paper Yukoni, T. and Torres L. V. (2016) Fish metacommunity dynamics in the patchy heterogeneous habitats of varzea lakes, turbid river channels and transparent clear and black water bodies in the Amazonian Lowlands of Bolivia. Environmental Biology of Fishes.</p> <p>This study documents the spatial dynamic of fish metacommunity based on the date sets of 65 sites, covering two geographic patches of transparent water valleys; Manuripi and Itenez Rivers, separated by turbid water valleys originate in the Andes and the Savanna.</p> <p>See http://www.freshwaterbiodiversity.eu/metadb/bf_mdb_view.php?entryID=BFE_105 for additional metadata.</p>
The database contains 1064 geo-referenced distribution data of fish species of all genera within the family Aphaniidae. The data has been partially downloaded from GBIF, and has been quality checked and is now being uploaded again by providing additional data from published scientific and grey literature as well as from site scale records. Detailed metadata can be found in the Freshwater Metadatabase (http://data.freshwaterbiodiversity.eu/metadb/bf_mdb_view.php?entryID=FWM_29) and in the Freshwater Metadata Journal (https://doi.org/10.15504/fmj.2020.48).

OMEGA contains metadata for component regional databases of non-marine ostracod ecology and distribution. It includes full taxonomic names and geographical coordinates for each record treating these as both data and metadata.
Point locality database of dragonflies and damselflies (Odonata) of continental Africa. Database of the IUCN SSC Dragonfly Specialist Group. Covers continental Africa including some island like Seychelles, Socotra, Bioko, Sao Tome and Principe and Canary Island but excluding Madagascar. Data derive from literature, museum collections and own observations of the group members and other collectors.
The database comprises the distribution of freshwater fish species in 28 Italian lakes. Data were obtained between 2007 and 2014 from standardised (CEN based) samplings with benthic and mesopelagic multi-mesh gillnets. The database offers a detailed description of the biodiversity of fish communities in the Italian regions of Piedmont, Lombardy, Trentino-Alto Adige and Sardinia including both natural lakes and reservoirs. Detailed metadata can be found in the Freshwater Metadatabase (http://data.freshwaterbiodiversity.eu/metadb/bf_mdb_view.php?entryID=FWM_19) and in the Freshwater Metadata Journal (https://doi.org/10.15504/fmj.2018.35).
