SeaRanger 2024: CTD data recorded during RV ALKOR cruise AL607

This data set comprises CTD data of the RV ALKOR cruise AL607 conducted in February 2024 (February 10th – February 16th) in the Western Baltic Sea by the University of Hamburg. Sampling activities conducted during this teaching cruise was part of the international sampling efforts to investigate the spawning activity of Western Baltic cod (Gadus morhua) coordinated by the Western Baltic cod Forum (WBCF).

Winter cod 2024: CTD data recorded during RV ALKOR cruise AL606

This data set comprises CTD data of the RV ALKOR cruise AL606 conducted in January 2024 (January 22nd – January 30th) in the Western Baltic Sea by the University of Hamburg. The cruise was part of the 5-year monitoring programme Winter cod 2021-25 (Monitoring winter spawning activity of Western Baltic cod (Gadus morhua) (2021-25)) of the University of Hamburg aiming at investigating the early-winter spawning activity of Western Baltic cod to identify potential climate-induced shifts in spawning phenology.

Winter cod 2023: CTD data recorded during RV ALKOR cruise AL585

This data set comprises CTD data of the RV ALKOR cruise AL585 conducted in January 2023 (January 23rd – January 31st) in the Western Baltic Sea by the University of Hamburg.

Physical oceanography during ALKOR cruise AL573

Conductivity-temperature-depth profiles were measured using a CTD during RV ALKOR cruise AL573. The CTD was equipped with duplicate sensors for temperature, conductivity and oxygen. All sensors are calibrated irregularly. Data were connected to the station book of the specific cruise as available in the DSHIP database.

Physical oceanography during ALKOR cruise AL571

Conductivity-temperature-depth profiles were measured using a Seabird SBE 911plus CTD during RV ALKOR cruise AL571. The CTD was equipped with duplicate sensors for temperature (SBE3plus), conductivity (SBE4) and oxygen (SBE43). Temperature, conductivity and oxygen sensors are calibrated by the manufacturer once a year before being mounted in January. They are used throughout the year and no post-cruise or in-situ calibration is applied. All other sensors are calibrated irregularly. Data were connected to the station book of the specific cruise as available in the DSHIP database.

Timeseries of physical oceanography in the Baltic Sea from 2011-2022

Conductivity-temperature-depth profiles were measured using a CTD during RV ALKOR cruise AL371. The CTD was equipped with duplicate sensors for temperature, conductivity and oxygen. All sensors are calibrated irregularly. Data were connected to the station book of the specific cruise as available in the DSHIP database.
