Conversion of carburetted uncatalysed passenger vehicle to natural gas results in a significant reduction in vehicle pollution. The OMEGAZ project is investigating if the same type of improvement can be made with fuel injected catalysed vehicles. The project is working simultaneously on the development of sophisticated gaseous injection and on the measurement and comparison of exhaust emissions particularly under cold engine and cold climatic conditions.
