dastools - Tools to work with data generated by DAS systems

This package provides a set of tools to read, manipulate and convert seismic waveforms generated by DAS systems. In particular, the ones saved in TDMs format: - dasconv: This utility lets you convert and manipulate seismic waveforms in TDMs format and export them into MiniSEED. - tdmsws (experimental) - a stand-alone implementation of the FDSN Dataselect web service, which is able to serve miniSEED data extracted from a folder with TDMS files.

GeoMod2008 materials benchmark: The axial test dataset

Stream2segment: a tool to download, process and visualize event-based seismic waveform data

The task of downloading comprehensive datasets of event-based seismic waveforms has been made easier through the development of standardised web services, but is still highly non-trivial, as the likelihood of temporary network failures or even worse subtle data errors naturally increase when the amount of requested data is in the order of millions of relatively short segments. This is even more challenging as the typical workflow is not restricted to a single massive download but consists of fetching all possible available input data (e.g., with several repeated download executions) for a processing stage producing any desired user-defined output. Here, we present stream2segment, a highly customisable Python 2+3 package helping the user through the whole workflow of downloading, inspecting and processing event-based seismic data by means of a relational database management system as archiving storage, which has clear performance and usability advantages. Stream2segment provides an integrated processing implementation able to produce any kind of user-defined output based on a configuration file and a user-defined Python function. Stream2segment can also produce diagnostic maps or user-defined plots which, unlike existing tools, do not require external software dependencies and are not static images but interactive browser-based applications ideally suited for data inspection or annotation tasks.

Supplement to: Rheological benchmark of silicone oils used for analog modeling of short- and long-term lithospheric deformation

The datasets that are presented here have been obtained to provide a rheological benchmark of silicones used in various analog modeling laboratories. The data contains rheological measurements of several polydimethylsiloxanes (PDMS) and filled silicone oils. The samples of eight different silicone oils originate from seven laboratories. Each sample was analyzed using rotational controlled shear rate tests (CSR), temperature sweep test, and dynamical oscillation tests (amplitude and frequency sweeps). Detailed information on the analysis and interpretation of the data is found in Rudolf, et al. (2016).The data is provided as comma-separated files in *.csv format. Each file contains multiple measurements, each starting with own data series information that is followed by the actual measurement in the form of a table including the individual units of measure. Furthermore the results from ReSpect (Takeh & Shanbhag, 2013) for the discrete Maxwell relaxation spectra are provided. All files can be opened using a text-editor, MS Excel, or equivalent software.More information about the datasets is available in the file Explanations_Rudolf-et-al-2016.pdf, an overview on the available files in the List_of_Files_Rudolf-et-al-2016 (in .pdf and .xlsx format). All information and overview files are also included in Rudolf-et-al-2016_datasets.zip.
