Experimentelle Bestimmung von Zündenergien - Aufstellen eines Modells zur Bestimmung von Zündenergien

Das Projekt "Experimentelle Bestimmung von Zündenergien - Aufstellen eines Modells zur Bestimmung von Zündenergien" wird vom Umweltbundesamt gefördert und von Universität Karlsruhe (TH), Fakultät für Chemieingenieurswesen und Verfahrenstechnik, Engler-Bunte-Institut, Bereich Verbrennungstechnik durchgeführt. The topic of the whole project is safe and efficient hydrocarbon oxidation. Detailed analysis of experimental parameters which influence explosions will be determined by literature study and additional experiments. In order to get a fundamental database of explosion indices which are comparable and also reproducible these parameters shall be fixed for all experiments which will be done within the project. The goal of the workpackage of the Engler-Bunte-Institute is the determination of minimum ignition energies for hydrocarbons. The minimum ignition energies will be determined for the fuel gases CH4, C2H6 and C3H8. In the existing literature the minimum ignition energy is only given for fuel gases in an optimal mixture with air (in most cases near the stoichiometric mixture) and only at ambient conditions. The minimum ignition energies for these gases will be determined for initial pressures of p = 1 bar(a) up to p = 10 bar(a) and initial temperatures up to 300 degree C. An important point will also be the determination of the minimum ignition energies for ternary fuel gas/inert gas/air mixtures as a function of the amount of inert gas.
