Abt Mauritius, ehemaliger Sternekoch, aus dem Kloster Tholey hat alle Rezepte gekocht, sie verfeinert und gibt im Kochbuch Profi-Tipps. Das Kochbuch wurde vom Adipositas-Netzwerk Saar e. V. herausgegeben und vom damaligen Ministerium für Soziales, Gesundheit, Frauen und Familie sowie dem damaligen Ministerium für Umwelt und Verbraucherschutz finanziell unterstützt. Es kann unter schmeckt.einfach.gut. bestellt werden. Das Kochbuch basiert auf Lieblingsrezepten saarländischer Schülerinnen und Schüler. 2012 hatte die Vernetzungsstelle Kita- und Schulverpflegung Saarland (VNS) im Rahmen der Tage der Schulverpflegung saarländische Schülerinnen und Schüler aufgerufen, ihre Lieblingsrezepte einzureichen. Diese wurden von der VNS hinsichtlich ihrer Nährwerte überarbeitet und bilden die Grundlage für das Kochbuch.
