Video transects were done using the A.IKANBILISTM hovering autonomous underwater vehicle (HAUV) of the company BeeX (https://beex.sg/a-ikanbilis/), which flew over the reefs along predefined transects at a depth of 0.5m above seabed and at a speed of 1 m s-1. From the dive videos of the HAUV, SBIs were extracted every second. Each SBI features two parallel laser lines 30 cm away from each other. The camera used was a GoPro, the videos and pictures were taken perpendicularly to the seabed. The seabed images provide insights into the general composition of key species, higher systematic groups and ecological guilds. The images contain information on how benthic species are associated to each other. Transect files include individual images, whereas metadata of each image includes diving depth, date/time of transect. Geographical coordinates and time of individual images is unavailable, images have a resolution of 300dpi and a size of 9 to 13 MB.
Imagery transects with a camera attached to a frame design for taking pictures in a 50 x 50 cm area. Seabed images transects were carried out by scientific divers during the Heincke HE601 cruise focusing on developing and testing monitoring techniques at the Borkum Reef Ground and Sylt Outer Reef Marine Protected Areas. The camera used was a Canon EOS M6 camera, the pictures were taken perpendicularly to the seabed. The transects were done along a preset track across the reefs, number of pictures per transect varied based on diving time. The seabed images provide insights into the general composition of key species, higher systematic groups and ecological guilds. The images also contain valuable information on how benthic species are associated to each other. Transect files include individual images, whereas metadata of each image including diving depth, date/time, if the image was further analyzed, corresponding diver is found in a separate file. Geographical coordinates of individual images is unavailable.
Imagery transects with a camera attached to a frame design for taking pictures in a 50 x 50 cm area. Seabed images transects were carried out by scientific divers during the RESTORE expedition on board the ship Arctic Ocean during September 2021, focusing on the monitoring of two pilot reefs (east and west) and the ecology of benthic assemblages in the Borkum Reef Ground marine protected area. The camera used was a Cannon EOS M6 camera, the pictures were taken perpendicularly to the seabed. The transects were done along a preset track across the reefs, number of pictures per transect varied based on diving time, with a minimum of 10 images per transect. Due to logistic problems, two transects were done for the east reef, and one for the west reef. The seabed images provide insights into the general composition of key species, higher systematic groups and ecological guilds. The images also contain valuable information on how benthic species are associated to each other. Dataset includes individual images, and metadata of each image including diving depth, date/time, and corresponding diver. Detailed geographical coordinates of individual images are unavailable.

During the cruise of EMB238 at several stations in Fehmarn Belt area macrofauna samples were collected within the framework of DAM pilot mission project, MGF Baltic Sea, aiming to investigate the impact of bottom trawling fishing in marine protected areas of the German Exclusive Economic Zone (EEZ). The data contains the abundance, biomass and species number. The water depths of all stations was around 24 metres. Samples were obtained using van Veen grab, sieved with 1 mm sieve and fixed with formalin on board. Sorting with microscopy, taxonomic identification, counting and weighing of the species took place in the laboratory.
In the framework of research on impacts of trawling in the western Baltic Sea (DAM pilot mission MGF Baltic Sea), we investigated the population structure of the benthic key species Mya arenaria by measuring shell length to provide the size-frequency distribution in the marine protected area of Oderbank in the Southern Baltic Sea from June 2021. We obtained samples using vanVeen grabs inside the marine protected areas and reference areas nearby.

In the framework of research on impacts of trawling in the western Baltic Sea (DAM pilot mission MGF Baltic Sea), we investigated the population structure of the benthic key species Macoma balthica by measuring shell length to provide the size-frequency distribution in the marine protected area of Rönnebank in the Southern Baltic Sea from June 2023. We obtained samples using vanVeen grabs inside the marine protected areas and reference areas nearby.
