The Governance Regulation ((EU) 2018/1999) requires Member States to annually report approximated greenhouse gas inventories by 31 July. A Union approximated greenhouse gas inventory is annually compiled on the basis of the Member States’ approximated greenhouse gas inventories or, if a Member State has not communicated its approximated inventories by that date, on the basis of own estimates.
As a Party to the United Nations Framework on Climate Change ( UNFCCC ), since 1994 Germany has been obliged to prepare, publish and regularly update national emission inventories of greenhouse gases. Pursuant to Decision 24/CP.19, all Parties listed in ANNEX I of the UNFCCC are required to prepare and submit annual National Inventory Reports (NID) containing detailed and complete information on the entire process of preparation of such greenhouse - gas inventories. Als Vertragsstaat der Klimarahmenkonvention der Vereinten Nationen (UNFCCC) ist Deutschland seit 1994 dazu verpflichtet, Inventare zu nationalen Treibhausgasemissionen zu erstellen, zu veröffentlichen und regelmäßig fortzuschreiben. Gemäß Entscheidung 24/CP.19 müssen alle im ANNEX I der Klimarahmenkonvention aufgeführten Staaten jährlich einen Nationalen Inventarbericht (NID) erstellen und übermitteln, der detaillierte und vollständige Angaben über den gesamten Prozess der Erstellung der Treibhausgasinventare bereitstellt. Durch diesen Bericht soll die Transparenz, Konsistenz und Vergleichbarkeit der Inventare sichergestellt und der unabhängige Überprüfungsprozess unterstützt werden. Progress to targets for greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions and removals is a dataset under the National Energy and Climate Progress Reports (NECPRs), which is reported every second year (starting in 2023) by EU Member States. The dataset provides information regarding Member State's GHG and removals targets and progress in achieving them. The EEA collects and quality checks this data. The dataset links to data from GHG inventories and projections (also collected by the EEA), as well as Annual Emission Allocations (AEAs).
