SWIM Water Extent - Sentinel-1/2 - Daily

SWIM Water Extent is a global surface water product at 10 m pixel spacing based on Sentinel-1/2 data. The collection contains binary layers indicating open surface water for each Sentinel-1/2 scene. Clouds and cloud shadows are removed using ukis-csmask (see: https://github.com/dlr-eoc/ukis-csmask ) and are represented as NoData. The water extent extraction is based on convolutional neural networks (CNN). Maritime meteorological raw observations

The raw data files contain all delayed mode weather reports from Voluntary Observing Ships (VOS) that were sent to the Voluntary Observing Ship Global Data Assembly Centres (VOS-GDACs). Quality control has been carried out in the country of origin, but verification by the VOS-GDACs has not yet taken place.

Warning messages for the maritime meteorological observations

The warning messages contain information about records from Voluntary Observing Ships (VOS) with unusable or incomplete entries for which a quality assessment cannot be performed. The file contains text information and, in the case of inconsistencies in the meteorological data, the relevant message is added in IMMT format.

The hindcast data for sea surface temperature [K] from GPC_Offenbach (DWD).

This resource contains the monthly mean sea surface temperature [K] for 6 months. The period of hindcast data is January, 1993 - December, 2019. The format of resource is GRIB2. It is provided through the web site of WMO Lead Centre for LRF MME (Long Range Forecast Multi-Model Ensemble). The web site requests a user account. The Grade A(GPCs) and Grade B(NMHSs, RCCs) users can download the data USAGE: Menu: Data and Plot > Data Exchange > Search/Download. This hindcast data is made by GPC_Offenbach (DWD) using an operational seasonal prediction system. For more detailed information about the seasonal forecasts of GPC_Offenbach (DWD) visit the web site http://www.dwd.de/EN/ourservices/seasonals_forecasts/start.html.

Global Precipitation Analysis Products of the GPCC

The Global Precipitation Climatology Centre (GPCC) has been established in 1989 on request of the World Meteorological Organization (WMO). It is operated by Deutscher Wetterdienst (DWD, National Meteorological Service of Germany) as a German contribution to the World Climate Research Programme (WCRP). Mandate of the GPCC is the global analysis of precipitation on earth’s land surface based on in situ rain gauge data. These gridded analyses provide long-term means, monthly and daily totals, quantiles and a drought index.
