Das Projekt "Entwicklung physiologischer und biochemischer Toxizitaetstests mit Suesswasserorganismen und ihre Validierung im Labor sowie in Freiland-Mikrokosmen und Mesokosmen" wird/wurde gefördert durch: Kommission der Europäischen Gemeinschaften Brüssel. Es wird/wurde ausgeführt durch: Fraunhofer-Institut für Umweltchemie und Ökotoxikologie.The objektive of the part-project is to develop a feasible system to recognize the ecotoxicological effects potential of chemicals from ecophysiological point of view. Despite multiple investigations on different levels with organisms, outdoor experiments and monitoring, significant uncertainties regarding the reliability of assessment remain. A system of methods using cellular processes in one test set, considering the potential targets and modes of action is to close this gap. The system will include endpoints cocerning: - unspecific mode action, polar and unpolar - uncoupling of oxidative phosphorylation - inhibition of the respiratory electron transport chain - inhibition of the photosynthetic electron transport chain - inhibition of acetylcholinesterase - alkylating activity - mutagenic activity.
