Recycle/reuse the removed S, whereas production of by products will be capable of obtaining economic values greater than by products produced with any known technical solutions. Increase feed flexibility for different types of high S content coal and renewable biomass, providing net thermal efficiency on any co-used multi fuel of higher 65 percent. Improve expanded use, EU dimension acceptability of renewable biomass and use waste vegetable oils for CC impregnation for safe/near zero emission clean energy. Als Umweltzone wird das Gebiet innerhalb des S-Bahn-Ringes bezeichnet, in dem nur Fahrzeuge fahren dürfen, die bestimmte Abgasstandards einhalten. Die Umweltzone gilt ab 1. Januar 2008.
Die Arbeitsgruppe Erneuerbare Energien-Statistik (AGEE-Stat) bilanziert im Auftrag des Bundesministeriums für Wirtschaft und Klimaschutz ( BMWK ) regelmäßig die Nutzung der erneuerbaren Energien in Deutschland. Jährlich erstellt die AGEE-Stat in diesem Rahmen eine erste amtliche Abschätzung zur Entwicklung der erneuerbaren Energien im jeweiligen Vorjahr und veröffentlicht die Erkenntnisse im Hintergrundpapier „Erneuerbare Energien in Deutschland“. Die nun vorliegende Publikation beschreibt die aktuellen Entwicklungen in den Bereichen Strom, Wärme und Verkehr, ergänzt um Zahlen zu den wirtschaftlichen Effekten und der Emissionsvermeidung durch erneuerbare Energien. Die Ergebnisse sind graphisch aufbereitet und stehen im Anhang als Datentabellen zur Verfügung. Veröffentlicht in Hintergrundpapier.

Zu diesem Ergebnis kommt eine Studie von 'Ecofys' im Auftrag von Greenpeace.

Es wird/wurde ausgeführt durch: Universität Gießen, Institut für Pflanzenökologie (Botanik II).Recently, the application of biochar to soils has been discussed as a win-win-win strategy to improve soil fertility, sequester carbon, reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions, and to enable CO2-negative energy production from renewable feedstock. First results suggest that biochar application affects the N transformations in the soil - The interactions between biochar and soil N transformations are still poorly understood. The aim of this project is to quantify the simultaneously occurring gross N transformations and sources of N2O fluxes in soils after biochar application. The methodology developed by C. Müller and established at the Department of Plant Ecology (15N labeling-tracing-modeling) (2-5) will be used to investigate the effect of biochar on soil N dynamics. Three 15N-tracing studies will be conducted to evaluate the short-term, intermediate and longer-term effects of biochar on N dynamics: (1) a study using 15N-labelled biochars (adapt technique for biochar); (2) a study examining intermediateterm effects in a biochar-hydrochar field study that started in April 2011 at the Dept. of Plant Ecology, and (3) a study in an European field experiment where fully randomized biochar plots were installed in 2009. The study is designed in such a way that Bachelor- and Master studies will address certain aspects in support of the main study. A process-based understanding of the soil N dynamics is key to evaluate if biochar may be a suitable global-change mitigation tool.

Es wird/wurde ausgeführt durch: Ecofys Germany GmbH.The Clean Development Mechanism (CDM) suffers from a price level for certificates that went down to almost zero in a period less than a year. Additionally, no short-term price recovery is expected which could incentivise new projects. A risk is that market participants leave the market and the valuable CDM knowledge base on GHG mitigation and quantification will be lost. The CDM Market Support Study analyses the actual price vulnerability of projects and identifies various financing and project type opportunities for project developers and for (institutional public) investors who intent to support the CDM project continuation and the further development of the CDM framework. The study also shows how the current regulatory framework of the CDM can be maintained by transferring it to future mechanisms. This could be a chance to develop the CDM from a pure market-based instrument towards an integrated part within future market-based and also policy-based instruments. The CDM can provide useful components to currently discussed or tested instruments such as the NMM (New Market Mechanism), the FVA (Framework for Varios Approaches), NAMAs (Nationally Appropriate Mitigation Actions) or results-based financing approaches. The study was financed by the German KfW-managed PoA Support Centre . The aim of the PoA-Support-Centre Germany is to support the development of Programmes of Activities (PoAs) under CDM and JI (Joint Implementation) worldwide.
