IOWDB

The IOWDB was designed for the particular requirements of the Leibniz Institute for Baltic Sea Research. It is aimed at the management of historical and recent measurement of the IOW (to some extend of other data, too) and to provide them in a user-friendly way via the research tool ODIN (Oceanographic Database research with Interactive Navigation).

Modelling Patagonian Lenga-forest dynamics (Nothofagus pumilio) in Chile

The dynamics of Patagonian Lenga-forests (Nothofagus pumilio) will be studied at two long-term investigation sites of the University of Chile of Santiago. Field data will be acquired in two field campaigns and involve structural surveys, increment coring and stem analyses. The aim of the proposed project is to model Lenga forest dynamics with an individual tree-based modelling approach. Building upon experience with the SILVA model, the major challenge lies in the old growth and regeneration phase, and the gap heterogeneity which can only be represented on the landscape scale. The approach is unique in a sense that it applies principles from individual-tree modelling to the classical field of gap models. It profits from the strong competition algorithms and structural sensitivity of individual tree models and overcomes the limitation of regular grids in gap models. The project will unite 30 years field experience and data collection at the U.Chile and the modelling background at the TUM. Besides the progress in the understanding of forest growth processes, the growth model will support the sustainable silvicultural management of the resource Lenga.

OceanRep GEOMAR Repository

GEOMAR Helmholtz Centre for Ocean Research Kiel is one of the leading marine science institutions in Europe. GEOMAR investigates the chemical, physical, biological, and geological processes in the oceans, as well as their interactions with the seafloor and the atmosphere. OceanRep is an open access digital collection containing the research output of GEOMAR staff and students. GFZ Data Services

GFZ Data Services is a repository for research data and scientific software across the Earth System Sciences, hosted at GFZ. The curated data are archived, persistently accessible and published with digital object identifier (DOI). They range from large dynamic datasets from global monitoring networks with real-time aquisition, to international services in geodesy and geophysics, to the full suite of small and highly heterogeneous datasets collected by individual researchers or small teams ("long-tail data"). In addition to the DOI registration and data archiving itself, GFZ Data Services team offers comprehensive consultation by domain scientists and IT specialists. Among others, GFZ Data Services is data publisher for the IAG Services ICGEM, IGETS and ISG (IAG = Int. Association for Geodesy; ICGEM = Int. Center for Global Earth Models; IGETS = Int. HALO database

HALO-DB is the web platform of a data retrieval and long-term archive system. The system was established to hold and to manage a wide range of data based on observations of the HALO research aircraft and data which are related to HALO observations. HALO (High-Altitude and LOng-range aircraft) is the new German research aircraft (German Science Community (DFG)). The aircraft, a Gulfstream GV-550 Business-Jet, is strongly modified for the application as a research platform. HALO offers several advantages for scientific campaigns, such as its high range of more than 10000 km, a high maximum altitude of more than 15 km, as well as a relatively high payload.

Von einer erhöhten Futterqualität und Biodiversität sowie von offenen Almflächen profitieren Landwirtschaft, Naturschutz und Tourismus.

Collaborative Research Centre 806 Database

The CRC806-Database platform is the Research Data Management infrastructure of the SFB / CRC 806. The infrastructure is implemented using Open Source software, and implements Open Science, Open Access and Open Data principles. The Collaborative Research Centre (CRC; ‘Sonderforschungsbereich’ or SFB) is designed to capture the complex nature of chronology, regional structure, climatic, environmental and socio-cultural contexts of major intercontinental and transcontinental events of dispersal of Modern Man from Africa to Western Eurasia, and particularly to Europe (Cited from introductory text on: www.sfb806.de).
