EEA Reference grid

The grid is based on the recommendation at the 1st European Workshop on Reference Grids in 2003 and later INSPIRE geographical grid systems. For each country three vector polygon grid shape files, 1, 10 and 100 km, are available. The grids cover at least country borders - plus 15km buffer - and, where applicable, marine Exclusive Economic Zones v7.0 - plus 15km buffer - (www.vliz.be/vmdcdata/marbound). Note that the extent of the grid into the marine area does not reflect the extent of the territorial waters.

Population trend of bird species: datasets from Article 12, Birds Directive 2009/147/EC reporting (2013-2018) - INTERNAL VERSION - Oct. 2020

All EU Member States are requested to monitor birds listed in the Birds Directive (2009/147/EC) and send a report about the progress made with the implementation of the Directive every 6 years following an agreed format. The assessment of breeding population short-term trend at the level of country is here presented. The spatial dataset contains gridded birds distribution data (10 km grid cells) as reported by EU Member States for the 2013-2018 period. The dataset is aggregated by species code and country in the attribute CO_MS. By use of the aggregated attribute [CO_MS], the tabular data can be joined to the spatial data to obtain e.g. the EU population status and trend. This metadata refers to the INTERNAL dataset as it includes species flagged as sensitive by Member States. Therefore, its access is restricted to only internal use by EEA.

G8 Climate Scorecards

It outlines mid-term and long-term cumulative emission allowances for key countries under the three equity approaches and trajectories for these countries to keep global warming below 2 degrees Celsius. The objective of the report is to initiate a constructive debate among and foster long-term commitments of the parties while moving towards a fair, ambitious and binding Copenhagen agreement. The report was written on request of WWF.

Nature-based solutions for climate and biodiversity protection in selected national climate contributions

This report aims to inform the implementation of the German Action Plan with experiences from other countries that have also developed NbS measures to strengthen their natural carbon sinks. Six case study countries were selected for analysis: United Kingdom (UK), United States of America (USA), Ethiopia, Indonesia, Brazil and China. These countries were chosen because their NDCs mention NbS explicitly or NbS-related measures, such as forest enhancement or peatland rewetting. Furthermore, the case study countries represent diverse income levels and geographical regions. The report examines and summarises the success factors and challenges in implementing NbS in these countries, with conclusions drawn for the implementation of the German ANK. Development of the cement clinker production under the EU ETS

This report summarizes the main trends and drivers of the cement sector in the time period 2005-2017 in the EU28 and provides a compilation of key figures on the cement clinker industry for selected countries. The report focuses on the developments during the third trading period of the EU ETS since 2013 and analyses the countries within the EU28 with the highest contribution to total emissions of cement clinker production: Germany, Spain, France, United Kingdom, Italy, Poland and Greece. By providing key information from past developments, this report sets a solid basis for future projections and the design of climate policy. Veröffentlicht in Climate Change | 04/2025.

Es wird/wurde ausgeführt durch: Ecofys Germany GmbH.As global leaders head to the G20 summit to consider solutions to the current global economic crisis, a new report prepared by Ecofys and Germanwatch for WWF and E3G reveals that many of the economic recovery packages being discussed are a missed opportunity in terms of stimulating a green recovery, and actually run the risk of locking the world into a high-carbon future. The report provides the most detailed and comprehensive analysis to date of the proposed 'stimulus' packages of five key countries - France, Germany, Italy, the UK and the US - as well as the package agreed by the European Union as a whole.

DWD’s fully automatic MOSMIX product optimizes and interprets the forecast calculations of the NWP models ICON (DWD) and IFS (ECMWF), combines these and calculates statistically optimized weather forecasts in terms of point forecasts (PFCs). Thus, statistically corrected, updated forecasts for the next ten days are calculated for about 5400 locations around the world. Most forecasting locations are spread over Germany and Europe. MOSMIX forecasts (PFCs) include nearly all common meteorological parameters measured by weather stations.
